Vigna del Convento

2016

Morello cherry, dried rose and sweet leather, framed by fine-grained tannins and a bright Sangiovese acidity that keeps the wine standing perfectly upright.

The Story

A bottle with a past

The vineyard surrounds a deconsecrated 14th-century convent whose cool stone cloister now shelters the estate's oldest casks. Monks once grew Sangiovese here for sacramental wine; the rows have never known another grape.

Brunello should feel like warm stone at dusk. 2016 gave us exactly that.
